REALTORS® Have a Heart Supports Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Drive
HAMPTON ROADS, VA – REALTORS® Have a Heart, the community service initiative of the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Foundation, recently partnered with The Salvation Army Hampton Roads for their annual Christmas toy drive. Through the Angel Tree program, volunteers helped sort toys, clothing, and other items that were distributed to local families in need, ensuring a brighter holiday season for thousands of children.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program serves approximately 3,800 families across Hampton Roads, supplying gifts to 7,850 children in 2024. Volunteers play a crucial role in collecting, sorting, and distributing these donations to families during the holiday season.
"Volunteers are a huge part of this—we couldn’t do what we do without their help," said Erin Sweeney, Volunteer and Special Event Coordinator for The Salvation Army Hampton Roads. "Every small bit helps in the grand scheme of things. With the help of REALTORS® Have a Heart, we’re making sure that local families receive the holiday support they need."
HRRA members stepped up to assist in the sorting process just a few days before Christmas. Their efforts, alongside other volunteers, helped put the finishing touches on the program, spreading holiday cheer and reinforcing the REALTORS®’ commitment to community service.
“Being part of this initiative is incredibly rewarding,” said the Foundation’s executive director, Marah Chiara. “REALTORS® are dedicated to supporting the communities where we live and work, and this event is a perfect example of how small acts of service can make a big difference.”
