Hampton Roads REALTORS® Foundation and Tidewater Community College Forge Partnership to Support Real Estate Education

[Norfolk, VA] —The Hampton Roads REALTORS® Foundation (HRRF) is proud to announce a significant partnership with Tidewater Community College (TCC) aimed at fostering education and opportunity within the realm of real estate. Through this collaboration, the HRRF has established a dedicated scholarship fund to support students pursuing careers in real estate-related fields.

With a total scholarship commitment of $12,500, the partnership signifies a substantial investment in the education and future success of aspiring professionals. This annual expenditure scholarship, totaling $2,500 per year, will be disbursed over five years to deserving TCC students who demonstrate a passion for and commitment to the real estate industry.

TCC students interested in applying for this scholarship are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid for further details and application procedures.

Expressing gratitude for the partnership, Christopher Bryant, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Tidewater Community College, emphasized the impact of such initiatives on the local community: "Tidewater Community College is so thankful to the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Foundation for their partnership. We have 24,000 students, and all of our students come with very specific needs. We want to ensure accessibility to education and training. So, for our students, it makes a huge difference to have a segue into college or into the workforce. 81% of our graduates stay local, so an investment in our graduates here at TCC is an investment in our region because they are going to stay here, work here, live here, and play here. So, we're really taking care of our own."

Jay Mitchell, Chairman of the HRRF Board, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the joy of giving back to the community: "It's a distinct pleasure to be able to give money away. It's hard to raise it, and it's much easier and a lot more fun to give it away. It's great when we can absolutely help people who are local, who are going to stay in our area and buy homes, hopefully, from us and be a part of our community forever."
